We had a great experience with CHADD. Our feeling about our ADHD kid is that he is definitely correctly diagnosed. Our experience with raising our son was traumatic and we needed some way to understand how to cope and more importantly that we were not alone. Through CHADD we learned about different ways to treat and/or live with the condition. What medications are available and how they work. And more importantly we were introduced to a wide network of supporters and providers that have been a tremendous resource for us. We can’t thank you enough.

CHADD has been an essential resource in my family which provided me with encouragement and support through the research on co-existing conditions of ADHD. The education has normalized my child’s experience, narrowed effective treatment options, reduced frustration and I gained valuable parent training, psychosocial interventions and collaboratively informed my role in setting goals and services with the school environment. I’m more confident, prepared and a patient parent through the support and shared experiences of others through local speakers and national conferences.

It is with great pleasure that I recommend the Greater OC CHADD chapter as an exceptional resource to individuals with ADHD, their families and those that serve this population. Offering a wide variety of workshops for parents and professionals is only one of the important resources they make available. One of the biggest assets is the ability to network with others who may be going through the same experience, acquiring a sense of normalcy as well as additional strategies and resources. The volunteers are a wealth of information and are always willing to share! As an advocate and mentor for families who have children with disabilities and challenges, I am glad there is the OC CHADD chapter to refer families!
